‘Leander’ is a nice example of a dutch steel boat in need of modernisation. She was brought over from Holland recently and the current owner has started works but due to a change in his personal circumstances she is now for sale. She is currently on hard standing at a boat yard in Shepperton, where she could stay whilst any works are completed. The rates for hard standing are £325 per calendar month, plus electricity.

She has recently been blacked and had new anodes. Her super structure has just been prepared and had 2 coats of undercoat ready for the top coat.

A boat safety examiner has gone over the boat and provided a list of what needs to be completed for her to pass.

Leander has a fully running 6 cylinder Leyland engine and a bow thruster. This all works as the boat came to it’s current location under it’s own steam. The engine will need a service as the current owner does not know when it was last serviced.

She has a large aft cabin, currently with 2 fixed beds, both very large single beds. This could easily be altered. Above the aft cabin is an outside helm position.

The wheelhouse is very spacious with an internal helm position and ample space for further seating to be added, this would make a nice second living area.

Steps lead down to the main living area. Door to the bathroom. This has a sea toilet and sink. This room is large could easily be converted to have a shower without compromising on space.

The living area has a fixed sofa style seat and there is built in storage around and under the gunnels. Again the seating could be removed to give a large space with lots of room for a sofa. The galley is forward from here (all open plan). This currently has a gas hob, sink, fridge and lots of storage. It has a 1950’s feel to the design, this could be restored or replaced (lots of room to make a great galley).

At the bow of the boat there is a door to a large storage area. This is currently un-lined.

With some modernisation this boat would make a great holiday or liveaboard boat.
